audiohw_set_monitor() switched the output mixer from the DAC to both line
bypasses: voice and beeps went silent while the radio played, and a line
nobody listened to was mixed in, with its noise. Both line inputs were
also powered from start-up on.
- the target names the line its tuner is on, RK27XX_CODEC_FM_LINE (1 or
2); both are used where it does not say
- monitoring adds that line's bypass to the DAC instead of replacing it
- the line inputs stay in standby until monitored, and go back after
Only rk27generic uses the internal codec - the other rk27xx targets
have external DACs or codecs.
Tested on rk27generic: the radio plays through the monitored line, key
clicks stay audible over it, and playback is unaffected.

- config: HAVE_RECORDING, sources microphone and FM, 8-48 kHz
- wm8751.c: the YP-CP3's own audiohw_set_recsrc(). The rk27xx cannot
send received samples straight back out, so what is heard of an input
goes through the codec's analog bypass - the input PGA into the output
mixers: the radio always, the microphone never. As in the original
firmware, the radio passes the PGA at +12 dB when only listened to,
and the microphone - mono, on RINPUT2 - gets +13 dB boost and is
recorded by the right ADC onto both channels (the original firmware's
noise gate is left out). The HD300's version assumes the microphone on
INPUT3 and headphones on OUT1, and switches OUT2 - the YP-CP3's
headphones - off.
- wm8751.c: the playback-only FM monitor added for the YP-CP3 goes; the
radio is routed by audiohw_set_recsrc() now, as on the HD300
- wm8751.h: DATSEL, which ADC feeds each channel of the output data
Only partly tested on hardware: FM radio still plays, and the recording
screen's peak meter follows the microphone. Not yet tested: a recorded
file played back, recording FM, recording gain range.

The YP-CP3's tuner is a Silicon Labs Si470x at I2C address 0x20, an
Si4703 by the RDS the original firmware enables. The firmware drives it
the Si470x way - writes from register 2, reads from 0x0A - starts its
oscillator with TEST1 = 0x8100 and a 500 ms wait before ENABLE, and has
no power or reset line for it.
- config: CONFIG_TUNER SI4700 with RDS, polled (no interrupt line
needed), and FM radio as an input source
- si4700.c: the YP-CP3 starts the oscillator as the Sansas do
- power-ypcp3.c: tuner power stubs - there is nothing to switch
- the rk27xx tuner I2C glue, and "radio" in the target's configure entry
- wm8751.c: audiohw_set_monitor() for a WM8750 target that plays the
radio but cannot record (rk27xx has no recording yet). The tuner, on
LINPUT1/RINPUT1, goes through the input PGA at +12 dB - as in the
original firmware - into the output mixers, the DAC staying in the mix.
The existing monitor routing lives in the recording code and switches
OUT2 off, which is the YP-CP3's headphone output.
Tested on a YP-CP3: stations tune and play at a sane level.

The YP-CP3 uses Wolfson WM8750. Headphones are wired on OUT2 and
a headphone amplifier enabled by GPIO F2, active high -
all RE from the original firmware.
The original firmware runs the codec as I2S master in its 12 MHz "USB
mode", fed a fixed 12 MHz MCLK, which puts 44.1 kHz at 44.118. Rockbox
instead makes the rk27xx the master and clocks the codec from the codec
PLL at exactly 256 fs (CODEC_SLAVE, as every other rk27xx target with an
external codec), so the codec's CLOCKING register is its normal-mode
256 fs setting at every rate. 96 kHz is left out: the WM8750 cannot take
it at 256 fs.
- config: HAVE_WM8750, CODEC_SLAVE, rates 8-48 kHz; the WM8750 has
hardware tone controls, so HAVE_SW_TONE_CONTROLS goes
- ypcp3/wmcodec-ypcp3.c: register writes over the rk27xx I2C driver
- wm8751.c: on the YP-CP3, power on and drive OUT2 instead of OUT1, set
the volume there, and switch the amplifier with the outputs
- english.lang: the YP-CP3 gets the bass/treble cutoff settings the
WM8750 brings
Tested on a YP-CP3: playback at 44.1 and 48 kHz on headphones, pitch and
volume correct.

Pure file move, in preparation for a second Ingenic SoC.
dma, gpio, i2c, installer, kernel, nand and the SPL NAND backend
move from target/mips/ingenic_x1000/ to target/mips/ingenic/
Drivers that cannot move as whole files, because part of each is
genuinely X1000-specific, are left alone for now: msc, uart, sfc, the
debug menu and the OST helpers in system-x1000.c.
Verified as a no-op: built at target 246 --type=b before and after from
the same source path, bootloader.bin is byte-identical, and every moved
file's object has the same instruction stream under its new name.
Builds clean with no warnings for targets 246, 260 and 247, both
--type=n and --type=b.

This commit does the following changes to the 3ds port:
- Rename the target from ctru to 3ds.
- Rename all files and functions with the ctru naming convention to 3ds.
- Created a new file and folder structure that will better integrate future console ports that share the same codebase.
- Fixed a buffer overflow bug in pcm code.

This commit adds new files written exclusively for the 3ds port.
Additional comments:
1. Plugins works, but will be enabled in future commits.
2. The port has only been tested on the New 3DS.
3. Not all features of rockbox have been tested so there may be bugs or non-functional features.
4. There is a known issue where a random crash can occur when exiting the app.

* Add a crude keymap
* Use native "hardware mute" for audiohw_mute()
* Properly handle touchscreen inputs
* Can now play back music, with some warts..
Broken:
* rotary wheel still doesn't work
* audio garbled/distorted a bit
* no volume control

* Only bootloader builds
* Plugins disabled
* No keymaps to anything else
* No simulator
* Touchscreen not wired up yet
* Audio still untested
Bugs:
* rotary encoder does nothing in bootloader
(might be bootloader bug, might be something else)
Other stuff pulled in:
* Unify all of the (identical!) hibyos makefiles
* Rename the "bootloader" to more generic name

Turns out they did not swap the stereo switch lines on us,
so this setting isn't really useful. Repurpose it to allow
the user to force the device into headphone or line output mode.
Note that settings other than "Automatic" will cause jack detection
to not work.

Check for the ES9018K2M dac in the bootloader for
hw1/hw2 devices. Assume that all devices newer than
hw2 have ES9018K2M DAC unconditionally.
All devices will now report the correct hw revision
in the debug menu under Device Data.
Add devicedata.version field, current version 0.
Rename device_data.lcd_version to device_data.hw_rev.
hw2 devices with older bootloaders which ID as hw1 are special-
cased to keep using hwvol on them. They should still upgrade though.

Add HW volume control via ES9018K2M, and reorganize
eros_qn_codec.c/.h, audiohw-erosqnative.c.
This automatically detects the presence of the new DAC and
uses its hardware volume scaling. If not present, use same
SWVOL we have been using so far.
Add debug menu readout of SWVOL/I2C result.
Break out es9018k2m stuff into its own file so that
maybe it can be useful to other ports.
Note that we may need to get smarter about detecting the DAC
type if/when another model emerges.

The newer players have some changed hardware, but most importantly
the line out now appears to be routed through the stereo switch
instead of being hardwired directly off the DAC.
Disable muting the headphone amp, enable switching the stereo switch,
and rename some of the GPIOs to be more generic since the DAC,
headphone amp, and stereo switch all appear to have changed.

According to a forum user, there's an audible click when changing
the volume between -32 and -32.5 dB with some headphones. Fix this
by not (ab)using the DAC digital mixer for volume control.
The mixer only provides an extra -6 dB of hardware volume range,
so the only side effect is that software volume will now kick in
at -32 dB instead of -38 dB.

A small negative offset seems to silence all
play/pause clicking on the PCM5102A.
Also adding PCM soft muting, and muting the headphone amp
when the headphones are detected as removed. This has been
tested to not cause any unintended side effects on the
line out.
Also confirmed the numerical dB values are (approx.) correct.

What works:
- LCD: 16-bit RGB565
- all buttons, including scrollwheel
- SD Card
- Battery level and charging/not charging status
- USB
- audio
- sample rate switching
- HP / LO detect, with "safe" fixed LO volume -
LO volume will only be put to user-defined max volume
if headphones are not present.
- rtc
- Plugins build, tried a couple and they seem OK
- Bootloader, installable to nand via usbboot
What doesn't work:
- Dual Boot
- power on/off has intermittent, low volume audio click
(sometimes it's completely silent, sometimes there's
a click)
- Audio uses 16-bit volume scaling, so clicking/popping
is pretty bad at lower volumes - need 32 bit volume
scaling, 24 bit I2S data
- USB HID keys not yet defined
- no jztool support
Unknowns:
- Stereo Switch pins: Direction select, AC_DC
(probably not even hooked up)
- What is the actual purpose of the Stereo Swtich?
- How does the bluetooth module connect?
"Someday" stuff:
- get LCD working at higher bit depth
- Bluetooth

- Audio playback works
- Touchscreen and buttons work
- Bootloader works and is capable of dual boot
- Plugins are working
- Cabbiev2 theme has been ported
- Stable for general usage
Thanks to Marc Aarts for porting Cabbiev2 and plugin bitmaps.
There's a few minor known issues:
- Bootloader must be installed manually using 'usbboot' as there is
no support in jztool yet.
- Keymaps may be lacking, need further testing and feedback.
- Some plugins may not be fully adapted to the screen size and could
benefit from further tweaking.
- LCD shows abnormal effects under some circumstances: for example,
after viewing a mostly black screen an afterimage appears briefly
when going back to a brightly-lit screen. Sudden power-off without
proper shutdown of the backlight causes a "dissolving" effect.
- CW2015 battery reporting driver is buggy, and disabled for now.
Battery reporting is currently voltage-based using the AXP192.

Some audiohw API calls are shared between playback and recording,
eg. frequency settings. Implementing these in the DAC driver won't
work for the M3K, as it uses a separate codec for microphone input.

Tested on eros q, everything measured from line out,
open circuit.
- volume steps were approximately double the dB they
were labelled as, so "-2 dB" would result in a change
of about -4 dB from maximum (0, +6.2dBV)
- maximum volume defining the line out volume only
changed every 10 values, and then was not close
to correct- "-10 dB" resulted in -2.5 dB from maximum
This gets the volume dB approximately correct, and
maximum volume correctly sets the line out volume.
I was unable to get odd values in the max volume
to work, so set the step size to 2 instead of one.
For "consumer level" (-10dBV), set to -16.
For "Pro level" (+4dBu -> ~1.8dBV), set to -4.

With a full-scale 440Hz tone, the line out voltage
measured approx. 5.8Vpp at the 0 setting. WAY too hot!
(9 dBV, in fact)
For 0.894Vpp (-10 dBV - consumer devices), -18 appears to be
about right for line level signals, but for "pro" equipment
a different level may be desired.
Therefore, the user to cap the line out level by re-using the global

This allows the user to make use of the DAC's power-saving abilities.
The two modes are "high performance" and "battery saver". This feature
is supported by the AK4376 DAC in the upcoming FiiO M3K port.

could be hooked up to the battery level (via another setting) so it
can be toggled automatically when the battery gets too low.

In short, the display fading back in after a pause resuming interferes
with the audio codec, causing BadThings(tm) that cannot be recovered from
This really is just avoiding a known trigger; there's no guarantee this
condition won't occur under random circumstances during normal use,
and there's no good way to work around this from within rockbox.
I suspect the underlying problem is that both the display control and
codec control share an i2c bus, but the kernel drivers implementing them
isn't using proper linux bus access/locking.
