Most of the churn here occurs because 'filesize' is one of
the redefined filesystem functions, but some of the structs
used by the native FS code also include a 'filesize' member
variable which gets renamed by the macro in some but not all
source files.
It's easier to rename 'filesize()' to 'ffilesize()' rather
than try to clean up the macro mess or renaming the struct
members.
There is weirdness with root_realpath() which now breaks on
native builds because it was assumed to be unprefixed there.
dir_get_info() was unprefixed everywhere but this just seems
inconsistent; make it follow the FS_PREFIX() convention too.

apps/plugins/lua/rockaux.c defines strerror() and strcoll() so the Lua
plugin has something to link against on native targets, which have no
libc providing them. Hosted targets do have a libc, and defining them
there is at best redundant.
On the Windows simulator it is worse than redundant. Both come from
mingw's libmsvcrt.a, and because that is a static archive the linker
pulls in an archive member for an unrelated symbol, then finds a second
definition of these two, so lua.rock fails to link:
libmsvcrt.a(...): multiple definition of `strcoll';
rockaux.o:rockaux.c:244: first defined here
libmsvcrt.a(...): multiple definition of `strerror';
rockaux.o:rockaux.c:47: first defined here
On hosted Linux there is no diagnostic, because glibc supplies these
from a shared library where a local definition simply wins. That means
the plugin has been quietly shadowing glibc's strerror() with a stub
that always returned NULL, which is presumably not intended either.
Guard both with CONFIG_PLATFORM & PLATFORM_NATIVE, matching the guard
used a few lines above for errno. Hosted targets now get the real
implementations from their own libc.
This also silences a "redeclared without dllimport attribute" warning
that GCC 16 emits for the same clash.
Verified by building xduoox3 as a Windows simulator, xduoox3 as a Linux
simulator, and sansaclip as a native ARM target: all three link cleanly
with no multiple-definition errors.
Provenance, per the AI disclosure requirement in docs/CONTRIBUTING: this
change was drafted with Claude Code (Anthropic Claude Opus 5) at my
direction. Patch set 2 adopts Aidan MacDonald's review suggestion to key
the guard off PLATFORM_NATIVE rather than _WIN32.

get_files(path, recurse, finddir, findfile, sort_by, cancel_fn, f_t, d_t)
get_files returns a sorted tables of directories and (another) of files
path is the starting path; recurse == false.. only that path will be searched
findfile & finddir are definable search functions
if not defined all files/dirs are returned if false is passed.. none
or you can provide your own function
sort_by can be by "name" "size" "date" or "none" to perform no sorting
note: for "size" and "date" you may need to strip the attribute data to use
the returned filename
cancel_fn if not defined or not a function no user cancel otherwise supply
your own cancel function which returns true to cancel searching for files
f_t and d_t allow you to pass your own tables for re-use but isn't necessary

I think they mean corrupted not crashes as I couldn't repro that
splash_scroller stepped by individual chars and split multibyte
sequences leaving corrupted chars
now it uses the new font_measurestring() to get the max_w and chops
it at break chars instead
this required a bit of a logic change to the function but should be
as good with less complications

posix month field is called mon not month
mon goes from 0-11 so strfrtime needs to add 1 to the number for %m
day of week goes 0-6 where 0 = sunday
day of year goes 0-365 (365 on a leap year)
according to lua everything starts at 1
so month is 1-12
day of week goes 1-7 1 = sunday
day of year is 1-365 (366 on a leap year)
added some fields in the time_date example

* pcm_play_data
* pcm_play_stop
* pcm_play_stop_int
* pcm_is_playing
* pcm_set_frequency
* pcm_get_frequency
* pcm_apply_settings
Now, the only user of these functions are the mixer and recording layers
that provide a higher-level API to plugins and the main [playback]
application.
Outside of the PCM core, pcm_apply_settings() was only used immediately
following a call to mixer_set_frequency(), so the latter function
now always calls the former.

From what I can see the Creative Zen Vision ports, which
were the only ones to set USE_ELF prior to the Echo R1 port,
do not work except for a bootloader and never even got to
the point of booting Rockbox. This explains why they build
codecs and plugins as ELF binaries, yet there is no code to
load ELF format codecs or plugins.
Anyhow, add a new setting, PLUGIN_USE_ELF, which controls
whether plugins & codecs are left as ELF or converted to
flat binaries. This makes it possible for the Echo R1 to
use the flat binary .rock format, and makes it possible to
have ELF plugins/codecs on targets with non-ELF main binaries.
Seeing as nothing needs ELF plugins/codecs right now, the
new default is to generate them as flat binaries unless
the target requests otherwise.

fixes:
- traverse_dir was called recursively using two
MAX_PATH local buffers => possible stack overflow
- The import function inserted additional, incorrect,
entries when the whole line buffer was filled
- "Dirs not found" message overlapped number
of folders when generating folder list
- Final number of scanned folders wasn't displayed
- Wouldn't stop inserting when maximum number
of files in playlist was already reached
- Prevent buffer overflow when importing
- Don't write to fd after opening failed
- Use whole buffer with read_line, instead
of subtracting 1. Remove hard coded sizes
- CRs don't need to be removed in import function
(already handled by read_line)
features:
- Use insert context for *much* faster insertion
of large # of folders, and nicer progress display
- Use UI viewport
- Add progress indicator when saving or loading
- Display number of folders in edit list title
- Go back to plugin's main menu from edit list
- Only ask to save changes if list is dirty
- Warn before erasing modified playlist
- Flag successfully created playlist as modified
- Make folder scan wait for dircache
- Shorten menu item names
- Put "Play Shuffled" menu item first
- Remember selection when returning from submenus
- Go to WPS after ACTION_TREE_WPS
- Exit menu when pressing Back
- Perform an initial scan, if no data file exists
yet, when "Play Shuffled" or "Edit" is selected

```lua
We used 16-bit variables to store the 'character code' everywhere but
this won't let us represent anything beyond U+FFFF.
This patch changes those variables to a custom type that can be 32 or 16
bits depending on the build, and adjusts numerous internal APIs and
datastructures to match. This includes:
* utf8decode() and friends
* font manipulation, caching, rendering, and generation
* on-screen keyboard
* FAT filesystem (parsing and generating utf16 LFNs)
* WIN32 simulator platform code
Note that this patch doesn't _enable_ >16bit unicode support; a followup
patch will turn that on for appropriate targets.
Appears to work on:
* hosted linux, native, linux simulator in both 16/32-bit modes.
Needs testing on:
* windows and macos simulator (16bit+32bit)
